So I stepped away for, like, five minutes. Literally.
I was just AFK making a snack. I didn’t think much of it—I was in a public server, hanging out in the neon cave with my inventory open.
My little brother was sitting next to me, watching over my shoulder like he always does. He’s six, and he loves the pets but doesn’t really understand the values yet.
I told him, “Don’t click anything,” and he nodded with this angelic little face that I should have known was fake.
I come back, and he’s smiling. Proud.
“I made a trade for you!” he says. My heart drops.
I check my recent trades.
He gave away my FR Axolotl… for a cat. Just a regular, no-potion, plain ol’ cat.
I couldn’t even speak. I just sat there blinking, trying not to freak out. He looked so happy. “Cats are your favorite in real life!” he said, like he’d just saved the world.
I wanted to cry. That Axolotl was a birthday gift. I’d been holding onto it for sentimental reasons, not even planning to trade it.
I messaged the player, explained what happened, and begged them to trade it back.
Nothing. Radio silence.
I was heartbroken, but I didn’t want to take it out on my brother, so I just told him not to click anything again and moved on.
A few hours later, I get a message from the same person.
They said they were really sorry—they hadn’t realized it was such an unfair trade and wanted to make it right. They didn’t have the Axolotl anymore (they’d traded it again), but they offered me a Neon Bunny and a Ride Potion to make up for it.
I was shocked. They didn’t have to do anything. Most people wouldn’t. But they went out of their way to help a total stranger after a bad trade.
So yeah, I lost my Axolotl. But my little brother was still proud, the other player was unexpectedly kind, and now I’ve got a new favorite Neon Bunny.
It’s a memory I won’t forget anytime soon—and honestly? I think it turned out better than I expected.
