I don’t know why I did it, honestly. I was bored. Maybe a little curious. I was in a public server, not really doing anything, and thought it’d be funny to put on the bacon hair outfit, unequip all my pets, and walk around saying “any pets pls.”
I wasn’t trying to scam anybody. I wasn’t even thinking it through. I just wanted to see how people would react.
Most people ignored me, which, fair. A few threw in the usual “get a job” or “lol broke” stuff. But then this one girl—she had a neon unicorn and was just kind of chilling near the school—she walked over and traded me.
I figured she’d offer me a sandwich or maybe throw in a cat and cancel. But she put in a toucan. Full grown. Fly Ride.
I canceled the first time because I genuinely thought it was a mistake.
She put it back in and typed, “I don’t need it. Hope it helps.”
I sat there for a sec trying to decide what to do. I told her I was just messing around and didn’t actually need anything, and she goes, “It’s cool. I’ve had people be really kind to me before. Just pay it forward someday.”
Like… I didn’t expect that.
I ended up accepting the trade. I didn’t want to be weird about it. And I’ve literally never faked being poor again after that.
Not because I got caught or anything. But because someone was nice to me even when they thought I had nothing, and it made me feel like absolute trash for turning it into a game.
So yeah. If you’re thinking about doing it… maybe don’t. Or at least be prepared to have your whole mindset flipped by a stranger in a digital pet game.
