Okay, I’ll be real—most of the time when someone says they’re “new,” it’s either a scam setup or they’re about to ask for a free pet. But every now and then, someone surprises you in the best way possible.
So I was in a random public server doing some aging and trades. I had my stand out, and a new player came up and asked if I had any pets I didn’t want. I wasn’t in the mood to get into anything heavy, so I said sure, picked a couple of commons and a mega ant I didn’t really use, and traded them over for free.
She was super polite and typed kind of slow, so I figured she was actually new—probably a younger kid just getting started. I told her how to equip her pet and how to age it up. We chatted for a minute, then she says, “Can I give you something? You were really nice.”
I was like, “You don’t have to!” but she insisted.
And then… she puts a FR Hedgehog in the trade window.
At first, I thought it was a flex or a mistake. I was about to cancel, thinking she’d meant to click something else. But she added, confirmed, and said, “I got it from a friend but I like the ant better.”
I froze. My brain couldn’t process. I hit accept—after triple checking—and it went through.
I sat there stunned. Like, I just gave her a mega ant and some randoms, and she handed me a FR Hedgehog like it was no big deal. That pet is worth way more than everything I’d given her combined.
I messaged her right away and told her it was really rare and asked if she was sure. She said, “Yeah, I don’t like it. It’s cute but I like bugs.”
I still can’t believe it.
I’ve had my fair share of bad trades and weird interactions, but this one stuck with me. Not because I got something valuable—but because it reminded me how sweet and generous people can be in this game when you least expect it.
I still have the Hedgehog. And yes, I named it Bugsy.
